Halo is currently searching for a Product Designer to work with our Head of Design to help realize our vision as we enter our next phase of growth. You should be passionate about our mission, energized by the challenge and eager to share a robust portfolio of past product design work. As a Product Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform. This position calls for a blend of creativity, systems thinking, and data literacy: You’ll uncover user needs, tackle complex design challenges, own major new features, and design immaculate UI. Your efforts will directly enhance how our users experience Halo, fostering a more connected and innovative research community.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop a deep understanding of both user and organizational needs for all sides of the Halo marketplace.

  • Transform open-ended questions and ideas into concrete and intuitive features for the Halo platform.

  • Facilitate contribution from cross-disciplinary stakeholders within Halo’s team.

  • Drive the full design process: Ideate, conduct research (qualitative & quantitative), prototype, test, support the build alongside engineering, and reflect on outcomes.

  • Expand on Halo’s design system and help build Halo’s design culture.

  • Stay at the forefront of design trends, tools, and practices, integrating them into your work and sharing knowledge with the team.

Who you are:

  • You have 4+ years of experience in product design and a portfolio that showcases expertise in interaction/UX design and visual interface design for complex business use cases.

  • You have a proven track record of driving design projects and optimizing for speed & quality in a fast-paced environment.

  • You have excellent writing skills and can craft UX microcopy that supports effective framing for users.

  • You can work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines—and move nimbly between responsibilities.

  • You're a clear communicator who can justify design decisions based on qualitative insights or data.

  • You have expertise in design/prototyping tools and comfort with Agile product delivery.

  • You appreciate feedback while not being shy to share your own.

  • You don’t take yourself too seriously. While technically a job, this shouldn’t feel like work because you're inspired by the mission and energized by the challenge.

Nice to Have:

  • You've worked at a fast-growing startup.

  • You have design experience at a company offering a B2B marketplace, professional network, ATS, CRM, or project management tool.

  • You have experience working directly with analytics tools to inform design decisions.

  • Experience working with a fully-distributed/remote team.

What we offer:

  • Share in the upside. Early employees have an outsized impact on a startup’s success. It’s only fair that you receive meaningful equity in return.

  • Donate to research. Make a donation to scientific research you care about and we’ll match your donation dollar-for-dollar.

  • Volunteer for research. Participate in a research study through ResearchMatch, a nonprofit funded by the NIH, and get a $200 bonus check.

  • Stay healthy. We don’t ever want your health to be a source of stress and offer top-of-the-line medical, dental, and vision benefits.

  • Escape for the Winter. From December to March, Halo will fly you anywhere in the country to escape the cold and get some Vitamin D.
