Timeline interactions

I've been playing with the idea of using timelines to personalize your work, education, and volunteer history.

It's brought up both interaction questions (how does the timeline work if it gets ridiculously long? how does it change when items within the same year are expanded?) and human-interest questions (for a quick glance, do I care more about where you've worked or what you've been doing?).
