Dia de los Muertos

New Mexico's vibrant culture includes Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, celebrated in early November. The celebration honors the deceased. Calaveras (colorful sugar skulls) and marigolds are often included in small alters people build for the departed to help them on their spiritual journey.
