Naupaka :: Hawaiian Native Flower

Naupaka 16x20 Oil on canvas. This is an oil painting I did back in 2010. Hawaiian Naupaka flower has a mythical story about two lovers that were separated. The flower's characteristics has a half-formed flower. As the myth goes, the other half (of the flower) lived by the ocean and the other (half of the flower) on the mountains. It took me nearly 2 years to complete. Hope you guys like it.
