Product from concept to vision

As part of my design process for new projects, my job is to begin to stitch together a product concept with as little or much detail as possible. Then, turn the idea into a concrete vision over time as more information and is gathered. This refinement process is meant to put something in front of the team as quickly as possible. In this sense, the design process is used as a facilitation tool. A tool for conversation, so the product team has something to look at and react to.

As more detail comes together over time, the refinement and iteration process can evolve, and the product designs themselves can develop and turn into a concrete vision.

When I began as the sole product designer at Cluey Learning, we had no product. I used this process to bring the product idea to life based on the detail we had and used design as a facilitation tool to enable the team to see the future and have good product conversations.
