When I've got a blank website, the first thing I do is kill the default blue #0000FF link colour, almost compulsively. I've been doing this for over 10 years out of habit and request from literally every client and co-worker. This time with my personal brand and website, I wanted to embrace this fundamental element of the internet in a fresh way!
The goal was to keep things lightweight, but also have each portfolio item open up into a big story with lots of insight about every project and its own vibe. The website had to fall away when needed and allow the content to rule the experience completely.
