Weirdtober 006/031: Ant-Man and the Wasp, “Hiya, Champ, How was School Today?”
This part in the Ant-Man and the Wasp movie where Hope says that line killed me. Paul Rudd being a tiny Paul Rudd was too perfect and hilarious.
Went for the MCU-movie versions of the characters again vs. their comic-book style costumes. I, like many others, had no idea what to expect out of both Ant-Man movies, but they are too pure and funny to note love. Paul Rudd is a treasure and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp is fantastic, especially in the second movie. ✊ So much so that I was only going to illustrate Wasp, but had another fun idea of inserting a tiny Ant-Man [UH! I should have added Ant-tony! 🤦🏻♀️ Anyways….].
Then I was like, well, I gotta show a couple size variations of him, and then as I was scaling him up, I got to that awkward last frame, which of course, isn’t bad because it’s amusing, BUT then I was like, this is a perfect opportunity for amateur-animation! 2-speeds! 😂
I honestly don’t go into these having much of a plan. I have a vague idea of who I want to illustrate and stuff, but it’s fun kinda winging it [pun intended!]. No need for perfection – I can already see I missed coloring in one of the openings on her helmet, but eh, this is for fun! And those little dots when Ant-man grows, ugh! But fun! FUN! 😁😅😭😭😭😭
