new blog homepage iterations

My blog has become more about photos - from photos in posts to dedicated photosets and photostories on my photoblog (which was a separate jekyll setup entirely). I'm now working on merging the two jekyll installs, so I'll have access to images to put on the homepage so I'm working on a new layout for posts (grid/columns is what I'm thinking) as well as some way of calling out huge photostories (collections of photosets from my travels) and regular photosets.
