Black History Exhibit

One decade and one artist, both to commemorate Black History Month—to remember. With the 1960s and a mirroring of Emory Douglas’s work in mind, my two group members and I joined forces to create a series of three posters: the life, the work, and the fight (of African Americans in Duluth throughout the years). My poster focuses on the fight, calling attention to Vietnam War Opposition and the truth of treatment towards the African American community. An informational booklet containing background regarding the 1960s, Emory Douglas, and a biography accompanies our posters. We finalized our posters by auctioning them at the 2020 Freedom Fund Dinner, helping to raise money and awareness for the Duluth NAACP.
