Day of the defense of the city of Zadar - commemorative mark

A small commemorative graphic mark for the envelope, celebrating 30'th anniversary since city of Zadar was liberated from the occupying Serbian forces that commenced long lasting city siege at the very beginning of Yugoslav Wars.

Graphic mark depicts a locally well known event where a small group of soldiers (numbering just 3-4 persons), in the most desperate of moments and a little bit of luck, managed to stop approaching heavily armed Serbian forces by destroying their leading tank with minimal arms supply.

Story goes that these men, upon seeing upcoming tanks and heavily armed Serbian soldiers, started to retreat from their positions since they only had light weapons (running out of ammunition) to defend with. Few of them encountered a deserted bunker filled with weapons, among which they found M79 Osa (bazooka). In desperation they've fired at a tank, but missed it terribly. Fortunately second shot was a successful one.

Details of the story can be read in this article: https://www.zadarskilist.hr/clanci/15092017/kako-je-mala-grupa-odva%C5%BEnih-5-listopada-1991-obranila-zadar

Two red squares represent Croatian checkerboard (national symbol) while coat of arms represents city of Zadar. Final art had smaller color alterations.
