Using precision beekeeping technology, Nectar gives bees a voice to help commercial beekeepers raise thriving colonies and crop growers to optimize their pollination services.

While Nectar initially focused on collecting data, this page was a first step towards Beekeeping Analytics. Analyzing data such as mortality rate is crucial for beekeepers to better understand the effect of feeding, treatment and even location. Our objective of this feature was to bring meaning and context to the data collected and help beekeepers make data-driven decisions.

One of the challenges encountered was how to aggregate multiple yards when zoomed out. Our first idea was to use a heatmap, but it didn't work out as expected. After numerous proof of concept, we decided to show yards by coloured dots in a zoomed out view.
