Clarke Quay Shophouse

Clarke Quay Shophouse, Singapore. Clarke Quay is named after Sir Andrew Clarke, Governor of the Straits Settlements from 1824 to 1902. He is noted for having presided over the signing of the Pangkor Treaty (1874), which established the system of British resident advisors at the courts of the Malay sultans.
