"Storytime"

STORY TIME:

So I'm sitting at the bar at my usual coffee spot, making a couple of revs on a piece I'd worked on the night before while I wait for my order. A guy walks up talking to another guy about how they have this incredible idea for a coffee-related thing, but they're not sure about this designer guy they have.

So I say "hey man, I'm a designer, that sounds cool. What is it?"

We know each other a little so he says "oh yeah! That's right. I forgot you were a designer. Check these sketches."

He shows me some aight ideas. But I turn to my laptop and I had illustrator open. I crank this out in like 3 minutes and he's losing his mind seeing it unfold in front of us.

Anyway, I realize that the agency world teaches us to keep clients at arm's length until the big reveal, but this was so refreshing to me. Just to pound out a decent idea quickly while he watched over my shoulder, delighted by the process. Kinda cool.

Cheers!
