Shopify Polaris for Admin: Product Illustration

Here are a few illustrations I did early on in our process of redesigning the Admin's product illustration style that we identified as hitting the right marks for overall tone and style.

We had some pretty good ideas of what we were aiming to accomplish going into the redesign, but given the timelines and structure of the project, we were actively refining and establishing firmer opinions and goals while we were redesigning each individual illustration. So it was a lot of back and forth: trying something, talking with each other to assess how it works, going back to the drawing board, making adjustments, assessing the results again, etc.

It really helped to have a few benchmark illustrations that could serve as north stars for level of detail, scale, style, composition, subject choice and colour use.
