Tumblr App Icon Contest Entry

To me, Tumblr has always felt like a big 'ol cloud of ideas, creativity, and inspiration. I wanted to submit a design that depicted this well, but didn't want to overshadow or overcrowd the icon itself. I also wanted to stay true to Tumblr's original icon, but add some brighter, more vibrant, pops of color. This is why I've created a version with the fun backdrop above. I hope that's okay!

Tumblr actually played a pretty big role in my late teenage years, and is part of the reason I decided to pursue a career in Graphic Design and UI Design. I used to dedicate hours to not only thinking about the drawings, photos, and other images I wanted to post, but also self-learning HTML and CSS and putting considerable thought into the design of the page itself. It's the perfect sandbox for creatives of all kinds, and I'm super thankful and honored to have the opportunity to give this prompt a go.
