Light My Fire

I've had this idea of creating a matchbox art piece has been brewing in my head for a bit so I finally decided to take some time to make it happen 🔥

The most challenging part was figuring out how I could make the two parts slide. I tried different options but it turns out that the simplest solution is the one that works best, which is building a very small “box” behind the front canvas that holds the secondary canvas. This process made me remember how fun it is to do work that you can actually feel and touch and made me want to explore this concept more in the future.

I created this using plywood and painted using Posca pens.
