YARDBOX - BAUHAUS BREW LABS

I was commissioned by Bauhaus Brew Labs to create the packaging for their 2023 Spring/Summer seasonal beer mixed pack, including the 12 pack carton and can labels for each of the 4 varieties contained within. The brewery wanted a design that would incorporate their brewery's "yard" where they host concerts and events as well as a typical consumer's yard, populated by a variety of people doing interesting summery, yard-related activities. They wanted each of the 4 varieties of beers represented by an anthropomorphic character that would tie in the beer name as well as a yard-related activity. I conceived of the beer characters, as well as the people and their respective activities in the background, the color scheme, use of headline type and overall feel. I designed and illustrated all aspects of the packaging and labels with the exception of their logos, government warnings, some packaging icons that carry over from prior packaging, etc. I took inspiration from the food mascots, fast food children's meal boxes and generic house brand branding of my youth in the 80's as inspiration. Overall, I wanted the tone of the packaging to be vibrant, colorful and humorous to match the aesthetics and vibe of the brewery itself.
