Maluuba Home Screen

Here's the new redesign of the Maluuba home screen. Our aim was to give it a distinctive look while having a 'Material' aesthetic.

A big challenge for Virtual Personal Assistants is that users don't know what to say and are worried they have to phrase things in a certain way rather than speaking naturally. To welcome users to the app and introduce supported queries, we incorporated colorful icons with fun and natural queries beneath each.

I'm especially proud of the subtle zoom in animation each icon makes as you scroll. You really have to download the app to appreciate it as the GIF doesn't do justice. The icons also fade into full color from grayscale. The effect isn't very pronounced but subtly encourages the user to keep scrolling and discover more queries.
