Just for Fun

Life has been *giving* a lot of lemons lately. As a recovering people pleaser and perfectionist I wanted to create just for fun (for once). I have haven't produced a lot of personal projects as of late and partially because I get in the habit of overthinking. I think that everything I create has to be this grand masterpiece or it's not worth doing. This is me trying to break that mindset and letting loose. So I began to play with paint with no expectations of it having to be something. I'm not much of a painter or a hands on artist so this really was something new for me. So naturally, (no pun intended) I chose a subject that I thought would be fun yet manageable...Lemons.

I dated a designer once. If I didn't have imposter syndrome before that sure did me in! He was really into hand lettering at the time of us dating and even though I wasn't confident in my lettering skills I did EVERYTHING in hand lettering and textures. I never felt authentic and after we broke up I definitely did a Uno Reverse and relied heavily on fonts. Almost 10 years later, here I am again attempting my own lettering... I honestly kind of dig it and it doesn't look that bad!
