UNISpoT: Everything for students in one place

UNISpoT is an official application of the University of Split made for mobile Android and iOS devices. We worked on the app redesign to provide students with a better user experience.

About the project

While our team handled the redesign, we weren’t alone on this project. The UNISpoT application was created in cooperation between the Student Center Split, the University of Split, the Student Union of the University of Split, and the development team of students from the student association Virtualni Svijet. The main goal of this application is for students of the University of Split to get relevant information as quickly as possible. We hope that the students will enjoy using this app.

Mobile app redesign

UNISpoT app is a universal place where students can find the latest news related to the University of Split, the daily menus of all canteens at the University of Split, the state of line in the canteens, the state of student X card, current student job openings, and state of their student job contracts.

In addition to all the options listed, if students have any comments or praise regarding the University of Split, they can send them via the app. There’s a Trust Box function, which anonymously sends text and/or picture messages to the Student Center services.

Throughout the years, the app became cluttered with rushed design changes that affected its UX negatively. Our job was to simplify common actions users perform, tidy up screens, and create a design system that would standardize the visual language of the app, making it easier to upgrade and update in the future. The final result is a familiar UX with simplified user flows and updated looks.
