Mental Health in the Workplace: 2022 Worker Survey Website

Mental health is a major issue in the workplace, with millions of people affected each year. But what does mental health really look like in the workplace?

Context

In early 2022, we set out to design a website and promotional materials for a long form survey on mental health and its impact in the workplace. To support our new theme, we updated the Hubspot template we already used for survey reports. We wanted to create a bold and bright website that would be encourage people to engage with the survey.

Process

We used a subset of our brand colors to create a bright gradients, and added a dash of grain to the background. To convey the abstract idea of mental health, we turned to the surrealism movement in art for inspiration. We created a human-centered, dramatic illustration with dreamlike imagery that combines flat and 3D objects.

Based on the items that surround the main character in our illustration, we built complimentary geometric shapes to enrich the visual language throughout the website.

Key visual

One of the challenges we faced was showing graphs for such rich content. We used a javascript library to create interactive graphs that showed more information on hover or click. We kept the same color palette and ensured consistency with the main visual.

Result

The result was a website that was both informative and engaging. Over 7,500 people engaged with the survey, with an average time on page of 2.9 minutes. The campaign post was shared over 100 times on social media.

Other applications include promotional material used in posts and banners.
