When crafting this feature the team centred around some fundamental elements of collecting, engagement and community. A multitude of design decisions were shaped to align with, and amplify, these three aspects.

Community

To make use of the vacant state between games, we aimed to showcase potential prize money and highlight participants who've crafted their rosters, but also hidden their choices until a game goes live as to not influence other players.

In streamlining the user experience, and to get the best out of the game and leaderboard, we opted for unique roster names with a character limit and prohibited the use of offensive words or emojis.

When the leaderboard takes centre stage, a distinct spotlight on the top 3 positions was deemed essential to give praise to those who are winning, with the player’s position underneath, to allow players to find their position on the leaderboard with ease.

Collecting

Vaults are available in limited quantities, but once acquired, they become a permanent fixture in a player’s collection. To play Fantasy Record Label, being a Fantasy Vault Owner, and maintaining ownership, is essential.

Players must choose from artists with at least one eligible vault in their ownership. Throughout the selection process, we’ve provided clear messaging to indicate an artist has a vault present in their My Vaults library and incorporated a Fantasy Vault tag to highlight eligible vaults with which to purchase.

Engagement

When selecting artists, and to simplify leaderboard scenarios, players are presented with the choice to select either 0 or 5 artists in order to complete their rosters, eliminating potential confusion of how to join the game.

We prioritised directing the player's attention to the numbers along the right-hand side when a game is live so players could promptly discern the fluctuations in monthly listeners their artists had achieved.

For players without notifications enabled, we’ve introduced a "Get Notified About Results" button, giving them the option to opt-in for notifications from both the leaderboard and Vault Music.

Upon the conclusion of a game, we dispatch notifications to players who have notifications enabled, allowing them to discover their final standings and enticing them a few hours before to either tweak their rosters or let them seamlessly roll over to the next game.

App Store Screenshots

Go for Gold! That was the guiding philosophy I got behind this feature. To commemorate its launch, we inundated the App Store and Google Play shots, fully embracing the golden theme.

7 Day / Coming Soon Campaign

Collaborating with Marketing in the USA, we devised a 7-day campaign strategy to generate buzz for Fantasy Record Label, and intentionally incorporated "Coming Soon" elements for added flexibility.

Looking Back

Crafting this feature was an accomplishment in its own right. The team united, putting in dedicated effort and enduring numerous revisions. Despite the challenges, we persevered, and now, looking at the final result, it's truly something we can take pride in.
