SVE ECommerce Site

Overview

For my project, I created and designed unique items for sale on a custom-built website, tailored to meet the needs of SVE's specific audience. By planning and developing the site's layout and functionality, I ensured a seamless shopping experience for customers. This endeavor combined creativity with technical expertise to create an engaging platform for showcasing and selling my original creations.

Who is SVE/ Understanding the Client

SVE (Silicon Valley Elite) is an All-Star Cheerleading gym for all levels of competition in San Mateo, CA.

San Mateo is in the Heart of the Bay Area and Silicon Valley with many of the families of SVE being part of Realty, Tech, and Finance. The average income for a household is above 150,000 annually. This meant we were dealing with a clientele that wants easy, high end feeling, yet fashionable.

The Logo & The Activewear

Walking into this project, the logo was pre-established and with some creative freedom, I had to design pieces for the upcoming winter season. Competitive Cheer is similar to a HIIT workout, so the clothes had to be warm while still allowing for movement. I designed several pieces for the site here are just a couple:

A cropped hoodie with the SVE logo. That would be great to wear in or out of the gym. Because theres no zippers or button it was also safe to wear during practice.

A cowl necked sweater with a fun vintage/pixel version of the logo. Perfect for after practice.

Warm Pajama pants with the mascot on the leg. Perfect for lounge days or sleepwear.

A long sleeve with a simplified version of the logo that's great for practice, comfy days, and layering.

Wireframing the site

While honing my skills in UX/UI design, I crafted a straightforward wireframe outlining the website's pages to facilitate seamless navigation. This simplified layout aims to enhance user experience by providing clear pathways throughout the site. Below you'll see full screenshots of the actual completed website.

Summary

The website proved highly successful, not only covering its costs but also generating significant profit. I personally designed every piece of the activewear line, from creating product photos to crafting size charts and original artwork. Additionally, I handled all aspects of website development, including layout, functionality, and rigorous testing.

Post Mortem

I've gained a deep appreciation for each facet of the process by building everything from scratch. This experience has illuminated the value of full teams in undertaking projects like this, revealing the complexity and scope that can be efficiently managed through collective effort rather than individual endeavor.
