A Personal Logo
I have this thing, where I like to fold paper into little birds (that can actually flap their wings). It's a nice little exercise I like to do. The bird reminds me of all the things I love to do when it comes to being artistic, thinking in polygons, touching paper, and being a bit programmatic in my approach.
So, when I decided to update my personal logo (which was just a heavy 'A' without the bar), it occurred to me that I should make an illustrated version of one of my birds!
I started by going analog by folding up an origami bird that I could use as reference.
Then, by using Affinity Design, I recreated it with polygons and textures. A little click here, a little nudge there, and it was a nearly perfect reflection of the folded creature here on my desk.
Now, I just have to decide how I want to approach my typography.
This has my name in the background using Engravers MT. Not bad, but I'm not 100% convinced.
Nonetheless, I am excited to see where this goes!
