Princess Letter

For context:

This is a really old project. I originally made it as a Mail replacement icon for macOS (way before Big Sur, probably between Mountain Lion and Mavericks).

At that time, I was trying to learn app icon design and I used to practice and have fun with all kind of stuff, imagining silly things like "hey, what if the Mail icon was themed after Princess Peach's letter to Mario in Mario 64?".

I remember very well being happy with the result, coming here and sharing it on Dribbble, but after some time thinking "ok, maybe it's too silly, who wants to see something like that? Probably I need to delete it" and then I deleted it, feeling stupid and feeling like a child sharing child things with adults.

So after many years, revisiting my old stuff on Dropbox I found this one. Yeah, even today is difficult to understand how I came up with this idea.

But I realized that because of these silly ideas and the freedom to play around with silly things like that it allowed me to learn things that are still useful to me nowadays.

So, a reminder for myself: enjoy your imagination and the silly things that will come from it, who knows what you will learn from it? :)
