Tashi Delek

For my thesis project at PNCA, I designed a typeface inspired by Tibetan script. I spent a semester abroad in India, Nepal and Tibet, in college and I was inspired by all of the hand-written typography. I researched the Tibetan language, it's history, use and meaning. My script ended up to be a compilation of the same calligraphic strokes that make up the letters of the Tibetan alphabet. Therefore, the script can be written using the same gestures as the original Tibetan script.

Tashi Delek is a Tibetan greeting that translates to "blessings and good luck".
