UX Artefact example #013 - UX is not always sexy

Process is more important than polished product when talking about UX Projects. It can be challenging to showcase a lot of the output from early UX stages, plus, a lot of it can be fairly boring to look at.. Though this definitely leans towards a more aesthetic illustrative execution (at least for me!).

This particular piece formed part of the process flow for a campaign project for a well known Japanese fashion company. I cant stress how important sketching is, for this part of the UX process and a LOT of other parts. I personally love sketching ideas, concepts and thoughts, meaning you will always see me with a Moleskine at every client engagement. Take this as a warning as I will definitely putting up much more of my sketched ideas, concepts and designs.

One more thing.. did I say how important sketching was?

No?

Well if you can't sketch or just don't feel confident openly sketching then learn. Take art classes, doodle at home, at work, in meetings wherever, just draw.. because its such a natural yet powerful extension of your UX skill sets.
