08/32 – San Diego Wildcats Uniforms
Behind the Stitches
With a relatively brief history and one of the youngest rosters in the league, San Diego goes wild with their uniform set.
The Wildcats sport a dual blue color palette – a vibrant ocean blue and a deep navy – that in tandem with the design, embody a 90s-style aesthetic. The helmet is coated in the former blue, the only helmet in the league using this color, with the primary wildcat mark on either side. The front and back bumpers feature "Wildcats" and "San Diego" respectively. The helmet stripes taper at both the front and back, a motif carried throughout the uniform set that creates a uniquely dynamic look.
Each uniform top incorporates a navy capped sleeve with two vibrant blue stripes running across one another. The top stripe tapers back towards the nameplate and follows the natural motion of the player, while the bottom stripe flows the opposite direction. These stripes are finished with a slight plasticky shine that implies the reflectivity of the ocean.
For home games, the Wildcats have a vibrant ocean blue top as a primary and an all-navy look for an alternate, which has disappearing sleeve caps. San Diego wears white on the road.
The pants incorporate striping similar to the helmet – each leg has a single stripe that tapers towards the knee and remains squared at the hip where the primary logo is featured as well. The Wildcats have options for ocean blue, navy, or white pants paired with navy socks on all sets.
The jersey number set integrates some of the sharp points and curves seen in the team wordmarks but with adjusted dimensions that make it better suited for a uniform.
These mockups were made with a modified and retextured Madden 20 on PC. The in-game screenshots were then used to create a composition in Photoshop.
