Presenting the Hook
In 2011, I read about a man who won an international art competition with pushpin portraits—tactile, steeped in elegance.
My bride to be soon gifted me with thousands of pins to push, anticipating a sophisticated portrait to call her own. 13,635 pushpins later, I presented her with Captain James Hook. The steel-handed stingray. The sleaziest sleaze of the seven seas. Steeped in something more like, earwax.
13,503 pictures documented the pinning process, inadvertently nuking my Nikon. Hashtag, worth it. It took a year, on and off, to push all the pins and then 13 more to roll out this video. Sound on, enjoy!
