Nature Sensory Signposts

I designed and illustrated a set of dementia friendly signs that have been peppered through two garden spaces. They were created to stimulate the senses and encourage conversations with family, friends and staff while identifying flowers, plants, and wildlife in the gardens.

They follow dementia friendly principles, expressed with natural shapes, clear and concise text, and colourful illustrations. Each sign is eye-catching, easy to read and simple to understand.

Nature spotting whiteboards have also been positioned near to doors with access to the outdoor spaces, prompting people to move outside as well as share what they have seen in the garden once they return to the ward.
