Logo for a Study Abroad Program in Africa

This is my first attempt at a logo for a non-profit friend of mine. When asked when was my delivery date, they said this weekend. So I started to work hard basing it off the concept of a couple other ideas I admired and came out with this.

Oh and by the way, I hate doing logos, so I never know if it's good or not.. ha.
