Autodesk Ember: Print Stream App + E-Commerce Store

Working alongside the engineering, hardware, marketing and product team at Autodesk's Pier 9 location in San Francisco we've successfully launched the Autodesk Ember 3D printer to consumers, educators, businesses and educators!

We spent countless hours of user research, usability testing, product design and engineering time printing over 100,000 objects with our alpha and beta test groups as we refinined the Autodesk Print Stream web based printer management application , e-commerce store (part of Autodesk.com) and the 3D printer itself.

My involvement was end to end product design including:

  • User research

  • User testing

  • Wire framing

  • High fidelity mockups + prototypes of the web app portal, consumer facing e-commerce store (part of Autodesk.com), and an internal team facing inventory and shipping management application

Fun Fact: We were able to print objects as fine as a feather utilizing stereolithography which uses light to print and harden to "pull" the object out of a reservoir rather than print via traditional layering techniques.

A big shoutout and thank you to the Autodesk Team and all of the businesses and individuals who participated.
