Beats For Mac (concept)

What goes around, comes around.

Beats lives on! (although I'm sure if this actually moves to the development stage, I might have issues with the name…)

What started as a simple menu bar app, and my first real UI work (almost six years ago! And still listening to Drake!), is now being reworked into a more full-featured app. iTunes has only gotten worse and Beats sticks to those same principles I started with of being an elegant and lightweight music player, that wont rely on iTunes being open. (I’m not even sure on the technical feasability of this approach, with sandboxing and everything else Apple is doing to lock down the system. With that said, it’s still an enjoyable exercise).

This current shot is the result of many different iterations. I went through multiple different primary navigation models and concepts to arrive here. There is still lots to do, and lots to add, but I’m liking the way the app is progressing. More to come!

(This shot is obviously condensed for presentation purposes, check the attachment for the full view.)
