Mocked up a concept of mine for a Swiss Tour company. All of the content is completely original including the photography. The images used in this design were taken by me during my most recent trip to Switzerland. (I think there's a company out there that already exists called "Swiss Tours" (because it's a super generic name) but this is not related.)
The idea behind this company is to offer a different kind of vacation experience. Many tour companies pop from place to place so that visitors can see a lot of cities within a few days. This tour company (SwissTours) would focus on connecting travelers with the local community they choose to visit. It would be an expedited version of a"study abroad" trip. When someone signs up for a tour, they would be placed with a host family to live with for the duration of their stay. Everyone signing up for the tour would stay with different families within the same Swiss village/town. The tour would be a combination of organized excursions for all members of the tour (like day trips through the Alps - lead by the tour coordinator) and community events for everyone to attend with their host family. The hope is that the visitors would be able to build relationships with the town residents while enjoying all that Switzerland has to offer. Each tour would be limited to 25-30 guests so that the numbers could stay conservative enough to encourage relational building between the other "tourists" as well as the Swiss locals. This would be a tour for those looking to learn about international culture on a more intimate level. Basically it would be an Air Bnb, summer camp and study abroad experience all mixed into one.
Logistically, this would be pretty difficult. For a number of reasons including cost effectiveness, coordinating with locals (what if they aren't available during the day because of work?) etc. However, I thought it was a neat idea and is something that I would be interested in if it existed. In any case, it gave me an excuse to brainstorm and create a web layout using all original assets. Enjoy!
