Ellicott City Strong

On July 30th, historic Ellicott City was devastated by a flood. Two lives were lost, buildings were ruined, and businesses literally went underwater.

Founded in 1772, before the United States was even a country, Ellicott City became the birthplace of the infamous B&O railroad, whose lines still run through the city. This allowed for industry to take root, and ultimately brought Baltimore and Maryland to where it is today.

My friends and I collaborated to make a shirt, where proceeds will go to the Ellicott City Partnership to help rebuild our beloved historic city. The finalized shirt includes hand-lettering done by my friend in the center of the clock. This is the original illustration I made. It features the iconic clock found in the heart of Ellicott City, which was swept away in the flood, but eventually found again. It's our hope that what we can fundraise will go to rebuilding the clock, and any businesses in need.
