Knight Foundation Browse
Knight Foundation awards grants to several people and projects every month.
This means hundreds of grants are added to their system on a regular basis. We designed and implemented a faceted search to help potential grantees and staff members easily browse through all of the previously awarded grants.
Typically, this type of search appears on the left in a sidebar. However, our component based implementation, which prevents arbitrary additions to the design system, called for search results using grant cards that matched the card pattern being implemented throughout the site. Moving the filtering to the top kept them in close proximity to the search input and left more room for the content below.
