Discover Hypnosis Logo Design (Final)

The final logo design for my brothers' hypnotherapy business.

DISCOVER HYPNOSIS (www.discoverhypnosis.co.uk), a solution-focused hypnotherapy service.

I iterated through several design elements and symbology that included synapses, neurons, and brains. The early concepts where rejected, however, as those types of elements give connotations of mind control. Hypnotherapy (or hypnosis in general for that fact) is NOT about control.

Eventually I centred on a visual metaphor that explored 'cause and effect', using a concentric ripple symbol to convey how one event can have lasting consequences. The ripple symbol also has a subtle similarity to the stereotypical 'hypnotic pinwheel' that is commonly associated with hypnosis.
