Memoir - For the Stories That Matter

TL;DR: Full walkthrough of the native iOS prototype for Memoir can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/ogMN0Ejvf1w

I designed (and built!) Memoir for my iOS for Designers Codepath group project - this Dribbble shot reflects mocks of some of Memoir's view controllers that I designed. Because the purpose of Codepath is for designers to learn how to build native iOS apps using Swift and Xcode, the focus of the project was in the interactivity and extremely high fidelity prototype that we created (and not the visual design) - therefor, the more compelling part of this Dribbble shot isn't in these static mocks, but rather, can be viewed in the Youtube link I shared above.

My teammates and I built Memoir to easily surface video memories that often get lost in Facebook feeds, Dropbox files, or disappear after 24hrs on Snapchat. Memoir let's you "attach" video memories to a photo either privately, or with friends and family. Use the "trigger" photo that you choose to bring those video memories to life (using augmented reality).

At the end of Codepath, you demo your group project, and the top 3 from your cohort go on to compete in the public demo. Not only did we place 1st in our class demo, but we also placed 1st at the public demo!

The API that we used for the augmented reality portion is called Vuforia.

This course has inspired me to continue creating high fidelity prototypes using Xcode and Swift, and I encourage other designers to learn it as well - it's a lot of fun and really exciting to see your pixels come to life!

I'll add a link to the Github repository with the xcode project soon for those interested in viewing our Swift code - once I've cleaned up the messy file structure >.<
