Blend Self Portrait V2

This is the second version of an animation I did for the Send me to Blend contest. I was happy with my initial submission given the time that I had… or thought I had. When the contest was initially presented I thought it ended a week before it actually did. This is closer to what I would have liked to submit.
It’s a self portrait and the long and short is that I am my family and all the loved ones who support me.
It was important to me to try and use the Blend branding. I wanted merge elements from the Blend Manifesto

and repurpose them for this piece. You can see a similar color palette and most of the secondary animation was borrowed form the Manifesto, but what you can’t see is level of astonishment for this spot. I was in awe of this video the first time I saw it, but it wasn’t until I tried to replicate it that I gained a new appreciation for it. While I was working on animation, the gravity of it all began to hit me. The story boards, the fluidity, the contrast of speeds and the attention to detail of smallest things, LIKE a secondary animation I was trying to reproduce, was astonishing.
If you haven’t tried to duplicate something you love I can only implore you to try it and if you do I hope you get as much from that as I did from this.
