Functional iOS Keyboard Component for Principle

Those who know me know that I love building prototypes. One thing I've always wanted in a prototype was a working keyboard that I could type on. It just makes it feel more real.

I’m pretty new to Principle and so when I learned about components I got very excited! I figured that since the Principle community was so active there would be a bunch of cool pre-built components that I could download. One thing I’ve always wanted in a prototype was a working keyboard that I could type on. I searched for one that was available to download but was surprised when I couldn’t find any. So, I made one. And it’s free!

To make this I had to make a couple hundred different states of keyboards, so in order to do that easily, I had to be efficient in how I built it in Sketch. It worked so well I decided to turn it into a keyboard design tool that you can use. Use it to design a new keyboard and then easily import it into Principle and instantly see how it looks as a working keyboard.

Hope you like it! Do you have any cool components that you’d like to share? It’d be cool if there were more things like these!
