Red Sox Scores: September 28, 2017

Game No. 159

Hoping to clinch the division with a win against the A.L. West champs, the Red Sox lost control of Thursday night’s game right out of the gate. Starter Eduardo Rodríguez walked the first batter he saw then gave up two singles and a double, pushing three runs across the plate in the first inning. After being pulled early in the second, the bullpen didn’t fare much better, giving up another 11 hits and seven runs and handing the Astros their 99th win of the season.

For every Red Sox game this season, @Dan Perrera and I are visualizing the final score. Our ground rules: scores must be posted before the first pitch of the next game and must represent the final score. Home games are on a white background, away games on black, and the Red Sox are always red.
