Reclaiming The Fort

Illustration from the other night to help me get back in the swing of things—I've been away from my drawing table for the past month or so.

In my last post, and this one, I used a pencil for the linework rather than a pen as I usually do. Here, it gave the illustration a bit of a softer look whereas in my previous post the pencil gave the final, print ready, illustration and more gritty line quality—something I usually want anyway. It's making me wonder why I haven't used a pencil more for final illustrations in the past.
