Cinder Rescue Cat Childrens Book

Last spring I had the great pleasure to work with an old friend on the design and layout of her first book: a wonderful story for kids featuring Cinder - an adopted kitten - and his friend/mom the intrepid helicopter pilot Sam. It's a full-on adventure - they actually crash the helicopter towards the end, which is based on a real Search & Rescue helicopter crash that happened here in Jackson Hole several years ago.

By the time I got involved in this project the author already had her text ready to go and the illustrations had been produced. We ended up having to work around that a little bit since neither text nor images were really optimally set up for the standard childrens book formats. The solution ended up being a kind of a hybrid of a picture book and an early-reader chapter book.

The printing was done in Singapore and turned out pretty nice. The hardcover works really well and the illustrations came out spot on, which I was a little worried about. All in all, pretty fun little project!

If you'd like to get your hands on a copy head over to Grandview Publishing and send them a request by email (not on Amazon or anywhere else yet).
