I was commissioned by Nature magazine to create a series of illustrations for their Outlook supplement about women’s health.

The feature looks at many aspects of women’s health, including conditions that affect only women, or more women than men, as well as those with different symptoms in the sexes.

This artwork illustrates an article about microbiome diversity. Surveys of the microbes that live in the vagina have revealed unexpected variability. More research might reveal links between these microbes, infection and birth complications.
