Monk

Day One

So, I'm challenging myself to create something every day for the month of December. I may miss a day here and there, but this will be a good attempt at challenging me to get out of my comfort zone and just get weird with stuff. Super excited.

I made a little something over the past couple of evenings. It's a bit of an experimental UI: a cross between a record cover, website and gig poster. I honestly don't know what it is.

Anyway, I've been feeling a bit under the weather the past couple of evenings, so I've just been jamming to some Monk, specifically his 1964 vinyl on Columbia Records, aptly titled "Monk". I drew a lot of inspiration from his stabby and sometimes random melodies, that come together to form something beautiful.

This was also a bit of a test-drive of @IBM Plex family of typefaces, which actually all work quite nicely when paired together. Great work guys!

See the attachment for the full details. Let me know your thoughts. Happy December!
