You Cannot Unring a Bell

Been watching a lot of documentaries lately on the history of nuclear weapons and the fragile precipice their use, maintenance, and operation teeters on. Scary stuff, even though I was lucky to be born after the true uncertainty and fear of the height of the Cold War. I've heard the stories though. And in the current political climate, rhetoric around these weapons seems dangerously ignorant of their history.

Decided to get a bit wistful by collaging up one of the famous photographs of the Trinity test—the first ever detonation of a nuclear weapon—by Jack Aeby in 1945. Added some simple, custom gaspipe lettering and texture.

Let's pray our atoms remain peaceful, since you cannot unring a bell.

Full composition attached.
