Hidden Women

Happy International Women's Day!! πŸ‘©πŸΏβ€πŸš€πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸŽ“πŸ‘΅πŸ½πŸ‘ΈπŸ½

I created a series of hidden women in history to celebrate Women's History Month! There are SO many amazing women that I'd never heard of before starting this project!

A small sample:

Patsy Mink was a co-author of Title IX, the first Asian-American elected to Congress, and the first Asian American (male OR female) to run for president.

Irena Sendler was responsible for smuggling approximately 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto. 2,500!!

Shirley Chisholm was the first black woman ever elected to Congress, helped form the Black Caucus, and was the first African American (male OR female) to run for president.

Dang.

Changemaker Chats will feature the rest in their Instagram feed this month. And the NY Times started a new series called Overlooked today. V good. Go read!
