Illustration style

Working on an illustration approach for communicating ’having mindshare’.

I'm not a full time illustrator, so I had to polish up my illustration skills again, since they were a bit rusty 😉.

I was definitely inspired by the amazing illustrations I found online and here on Dribbble. So thanks a lot you guys for pulling me through! 💪

(My biggest inspiration is the @Headspace style - but that style doesn't match the sort of client I'm doing this for. What a shame - would love to make these cutesy, friendly illustrations that just make me smile every time I meditate)

This illustration took me a lot of steps, especially finding the right tool. first I started in Adobe Ilustrator, but I didn't offer me the freedom I wanted. So I switched to paper. The hand is so much more intelligent than any tool out there!

From sketching on paper, I switched to Photoshop - I work on a Cintiq screen so still was able to sketch out some more.

When I had a result that was close to where I wanted to be, I switched back to Illustrator again. I need the illustration to be scalable and want to be able to switch things around for different sizes.

This now is close enough to the concept I drew. I think the characters need more work though.

I know it can be so much better if I would illustrate more often, but for now this is where I ended up.

Any feedback? Love to hear!
