I recently finished the design for Foster Made, and have posted a few of the designs on Dribbble. But I did something a little differently on this project (which I've adopted into other projects as well.)

There's always some tension between organization and creativity. It can be tough working quickly and efficiently while also feeling the freedom to explore.

So with this and a few other projects I've created a page in my Sketch file called "Sandbox". It acts as a page where I can drop in a design and do anything I want. At the beginning of a project, it's great because it allows me to throw in inspiration and just explore on a blank canvas. Or if I'm feeling stuck later in the project, I'll bring in a design that might feel close and just start making variations of the same page until I get it right.

Eventually, I clean everything up and attach text styles, symbols, name layers, etc... You can see in the screenshots what I'm talking about. It's been really helpful for me to find the freedom to explore and also wind up in a really nice place.

So how do you do this? Do you do something similar? Let me know what you think!
