Type Sample - Teton Dems

I recently partnered with the Teton County Democratic Party to do a rebrand for them. We wanted to create a strong and energetic design system to match their renewed passion and commitment to keep making progress both locally and nationally.

For the typography we wanted something that feels very fresh and relevant but at the same time has some notes that harken back to the long tradition of the Democratic Party in Jackson Hole, along with the western roots of this place itself.

Korolev is a slightly condensed gothic that looks awesome in bold/black all-caps. It captivates your attention and shows you the seriousness of the organization and its mission, without being boring and corporate. Sutro is used for supporting text and headings, and its slightly fastidious slab-serif terminals and letterforms are historical artifacts from the very beginnings of this place at the end of the 1800s. Finally, Georgia is used for the body copy, both for its readability and adaptability, and for its ubiquitous presence on computers. I wanted to make sure that some part of the brand wouldn't require someone to download or purchase a font.
